Alright, I think I’ve got some students for you that you’ll be able to help. The first one goes by Rin, username #A2F9FF. He’s had another teacher for a while, but your abilities should be able to push him harder than her. He’s half demon, so don’t take him lightly. Next up is Kohaku, username #FFBF00. Another skilled fighter, from what I can tell. Your differences should help the both of you, even if he won’t be teaching anything.
Lastly, your sparring partner will be Sorey at #FFFF4D. He’s got some interesting moves that should put you to the test. That’s all. Let me know if there are any questions, but aside from that, work it out amongst yourselves.

Cairngorm, this is Midoriya.
I wasn't able to catch your group coming out of the forest, so I just wanted to check if you made it out okay.

That's a relief.
I wouldn't mind a report, if only so I can update the list of dangers everyone's come across in there, but what do you mean you can't explain it?

Must have been some kind of magic again. The forest really seems to specialize in making people see things that aren't really there.
That doesn't sound too bad, though. Unless something happened with the ...whatever they saw?

Hello? This is Sorey. Guren said my sparring partner is someone named Cairngorm...is that you?

Dear #C1BA57,
You're Cairngorm, correct? I have something that I believe belongs to you.
Yours,
Lupin

[ yay he was right.....??? ]
No need - I can come to you, if that would be easier. You're in Flavo, correct?

That's all right. If it's turned black and white, then, like you said, I can't miss it.
Is it all right to come right now? I won't interrupt if you're busy catching up on sleep.

i love cairngorm's expressions oh my god... EVERY ICON IN THIS THREAD
Heavy sleeper, aren't you? Then, if you insist: I'll be there momentarily. See you soon!
[ and he means it! over the time he's been here, he's made himself well-acquainted with the town, and it's easy to notice the one gray building in Flavo when it used to be colorful. Soon enough, Cairngorm will hear a polite knock at the door, Lupin standing there with a small pouch full of... something. ]

Not exactly the same. The first time I went into the forest, I found a lake that tried to lure me in with a vision of someone from home.
A fortune? What kind of price was the thing asking for?

Yeah. Well, he said you weren't human, but didn't specify.
[This makes Sorey a bit cautious, but he figures Cairn's not a bad person. They're all in the same situation of stuck here, after all.]
So, yeah, when and where would you like to spar? I figure an open area might be best, but I'm not aware of any far enough from town. What about you?

[ it feels like every encounter with Cairngorm he has brings some new surprise. This one is no different. He actually startles upon seeing their new pitch-black sheen when they come to the door. Now, that can't be right - and, of course, his first assumption is that they're sick. ]
-- What happened to you? Your skin...
[ sorry, he's bulldozing your question, Cairn. This is too alarming. ]

If it's possible to take color, then I wouldn't put it past them to be able to take memories or abilities.
Did either of them go with it?
It was someone that means a lot to me...I guess that's the problem, though.

[ he was thinking more about the Disembodied Leg than what color the inside non-meat parts were, thank you!!
the dismissive response gets him to stop gaping, at least, even if he still looks a little perturbed. They're human-shaped, sure, but it's more obvious than ever looking at them now that they aren't human, and once again, Lupin is confronted with the fact that he's dealing with some kind of strange fey creature here. Good thing he doesn't believe in curses. ]
... Right. Powder. [ why were they wearing powder, anyway? he'll ask in a second; for the moment, he steps over the threshold of the door, accepting the unspoken invitation. ] Honestly, there's a hundred things I'd like to ask you, but now I'm more convinced that coming here was the right call.
[ stopping where he stands a little bit inside the house, he looks at cairn's fractured jawline, then opens that pouch, rooting around with one hand until he pulls out a small, glittering rock. One that looks like it should fit nicely into a certain space on their face when he holds it out in front of himself up to Cairngorm's cheek - not quite touching them, but pretty close. ]
It's a good thing I picked these up.
